National Teachers Month Celebration 2024: Kudos to Teachers

Teachers are not just a person who delivers knowledge, they are an inspiration, and nurture of every student as they guide the students to be guiders for the future. Their dedication and hardworking deserves more than a trophy, but instead, never ending appreciation to them, because they tirelessly adapt to challenges and also tired to everyday happenings in class. By showing my appreciation to teachers, they hold a significant role to our future, they brighten and enhance it to support our dreams. Let us say our gratitude and commitment to our teachers, they are the reason why we stepped up, they are our second parents, they are here when we need help in our homework or lessons that are hard to understand, they are always here, there, anywhere to support us.

Teachers carry the responsibility of our future, they thrive and do it with care, love and support. it is our role, as a student to cheer them up when they're facing obstacles. We make sure that they are appreciated and loved by all because they always sacrifice and still show up in class. This shows that they have a hectic schedule in terms of classes, they go back and forth everyday just to teach us new lessons for a week. Together, let us establish an environment where teachers are honored.

In this month, let's focus on the teachers, let them feel they are important, they are loved. Without them, we wouldn't learn new lessons everyday nor do fun activities, they are dedicated to their work, they sacrifice for the sake of us students. The only thing we must do, is to show our sincere gratitudes to them, let them see that we are improving everyday so that they wouldn't worry. Teachers are seeing the future you, thanks to them, we are what we are right now.

Cheers to Youth

The world is a beautiful place to live on, yet so suffocating. Every day, you don’t know when

you’ll be face obstacles, but are you going to confront it, or is your anxiety and fear of failing

takes over you? Being brave and strong is a must, as you don’t know when you’re going face

variables today, later or tomorrow. So, i set aside my fears and started my day with a

courageous smile, ready for the day. Since i started to be happy and always smiling, i wasn’t

scared of what’s going to come to me, of what challenges arrives. Prioritizing myself is

something i will never regret, if i didn’t, i would’ve not become the ‘’me’’ today. Having to

believe in yourself and always happy and smiling is a good mindset to have.

Since i was a child, I’m always scared and shy to do new things because i always think, ‘’i

couldn’t do that.’’ or ‘’what if i fail?’’ And that is where i was wrong, because i can. As i

grew up, i encouraged myself to take a step up and do new things that now i enjoy doing. Not

only i encouraged and believed in myself but my family supported and helped me through it,

it was a big impact. My father let me believe that failing is a process of success, and it’s not

going to affect all of your dreams but instead it motivates you. i let myself be brave and i

socialized to people, laughed with them and made new friends’ day by day. the term ‘’the me

today’’ is a big process, i went from being shy and scared to a very lively and joyful,

talkative, always laughing and smiling. A big blowup indeed, a change of being introverted to

extroverted, my friends consider me as a ray of sunshine due to my happy persona. Though i

encounter struggles in life, but i always find myself to be happy and not let a problem crush

me.

In a time to come, i have always wanted to travel the world to socialize and make a

connection to the people i travel to. To see the stunning sights and views of places. I want to

travel with my family and friends in the future as they accompanied me in all times. The

places i want to travel to are Greece, France and Switzerland are my top 3 counties to travel

to. And to also eat different kinds of food in all sides of the world, to learn their cultures and

many more. Traveling isn't just only visiting places but to also make new friends, and

connections.

Towards a More Inclusive and Flexible Philippines

The Philippines' desire for resilience stems from its vulnerability to both man-made and natural disasters. The nation is frequently experiencing typhoons, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions due to its location in a dangerous area, all of which put the lives and safety of Filipinos at risk. From 1995-2015, the United Nations reported that the Philippines recorded the fourth most number of tragedies in the world. 274 disasters were recorded, 90% of which were weather-related. (GirlPowerTalk, 2024) Communities are more vulnerable to disasters as a result of fast development and environmental degradation. Moreover, the country's ability to react to and recover from these calamities is resisted by poverty.  All of these elements show how urgently the Philippines needs to become more strong.

The Philippines has put into practice several important power-building techniques to address these issues. Building climate-power configuration and developing early warning systems are two ways the government has made risk reduction a priority. It is now a priority to include resilience in both local and national development plans to make sure that efficient expansion does not threaten the readiness for disasters. International collaborations have been essential in prioritizing these initiatives by contributing funds. These programs show how to lessen the nation's risks proactively.

There are still big complications in the way of building a stable Philippines, regardless of these efforts. Applying resilience projects effectively is frequently restricted by official inefficiency and corruption. The problem is made more complex by the persistent danger of climate change and the rising frequency of weather events that it brings with it. Structure and resources are also under pressure due to the fast rate of urban expansion. It will take persistent dedication, creative thinking, and an emphasis on sustainable development methods to overcome these problems.

Letter to President Marcos

 Ilocos Sur National High School

August 22, 2024

Dear President Marcos,

Greetings, Mr. President. I hope you are doing well, I write for our country with a mix of feelings and emotions. I truly value your efforts to lead and stabilize the Philippines, and I hope that you will be a good and successful leader in the future. Our country is still experiencing obstacles that can't really be solved by normal citizens so they need to be guided by you.

Still, I have concerns about some of the paths our nation or our country is going to. I’m sincerely concerned about the issues about education, poverty and the growing expense of life. When it seems that a small sum of people doesn’t really put much interest on those issues really frustrates me. As you work through these issues, I hope you would pay attention to the voices of all Filipinos. I have faith and trust that you can guide us to a better and promising future.

Sincerely,

Khrizma LJ Villanueva
